Welcome to the onboarding.team blog
Why we're writing this blog: field notes from inside multi-location frontline operations, on closing the gap between a signed offer and a productive shift.

Ernest Barkhudarian, Founder of onboarding.team
- This is a field-notes blog for operators who run new hires across many locations, not a content-marketing channel.
- We write about one window: from offer-accepted to a productive shift.
- Expect plain, practical notes on preboarding, onboarding, ramp and retention.
I have spent most of my working life trying to make a hundred locations behave like one company. Flower-delivery networks, e-commerce, multi-location retail — different industries, same wall every time. You hire someone good, you make them an offer, they accept, and then somewhere between that yes and their first useful shift, the wheels come off. They go quiet before day one. They turn up and nobody has the induction ready. They ramp slowly because the training only exists in one manager's head, in one language, on one site.
This blog is where we write about that gap, and only that gap.
What you'll find here
Short, practical pieces written in the voice of someone who has actually run a floor. We will cover preboarding — the cheap, ignored window between a signed offer and day one — and onboarding proper: the kanban, the checklists, the tests, the homework a mentor actually signs off. We will write about ramp, about retention, and about the small operational decisions that quietly compound into a floor that runs the same standard whether it is site one or site one hundred.
What you won't find
No listicles padded to hit a word count. No hype about transformation. We are operators writing for operators, and we would rather be useful than impressive.
If you run hiring across multiple locations, or a single site with fifty-plus frontline staff, you are exactly who we are writing for. Pull up a chair — the first real notes are already being filed.
